New Gutbrod website

07.06.2019

Gutbrod’s new website is online. “Just my style” – is the message behind the completely revised Internet site, which presents customised ceramic design with personality. Handcrafted ceramic designs are shown off in all their glory, with unmistakeable character. Vibrant, creative, diverse and extremely modern – this is the impression being left by Gutbrod ceramics as they set new trends and provide inspiration for attractive stove solutions of the future.

A clear design has been produced using contemporary, visual language. A slider enables direct access to stove ceramic designs, decors and glazes. Information on stove ceramics (shape, glazes, decor, painted designs, craft, design, manufacture) is the key focus. The comprehensive picture gallery shows ceramic stoves of different styles and planning suggestions. The section on stove technology provides information about individual types of stove. The login-protected partner section offers exclusive information and downloads for craft and trade partners. In addition, the service section (news, catalogues, downloads, press, stove makers) has been expanded. Social media links (Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram) have also been integrated. The website was produced by Lorenz & Company (conception and design) and Media Arts interactive (programming and webhosting).

Gutbrod is one of the leading producers of stove ceramics. The specialist ceramics factory in Gundelfingen has been producing high-quality ceramic designs for tile stoves, fireplace stoves and tiled cookers since 1869. Each individual stove tile is carefully handcrafted from natural materials. Customised stove ceramics from Gutbrod bring a unique, comforting warmth to your home thanks to their high heat storage capacity.

Visit from future ‘Meister’ (Master craftsmen)

17.05.2019

In the middle of May, the current class of budding ‘Meister’ (Master craftsman) stove makers and air heating specialists from the Robert-Mayer-Schule in Stuttgart were given an in-depth look at our specialist ceramics factory.

Two female and nine male pupils – all future ‘Meister’ –, accompanied by a male and female teacher, came to the Gundelfingen site.

The programme included an informative tour of the Production department and specialist talks on the fascinating topic of ceramics. The young, motivated and inquisitive future experts were delighted by the team’s craftsmanship.

The quality and organisation of the individual production areas also made them more aware of the value of handcrafted stove ceramics. The programme was concluded with a hearty Bavarian snack.

We wish all the budding ‘Meister’ every success in their up-and-coming examinations, and every joy in their unique future careers.

She turns tiles into art

20.11.2013

Melanie Wenninger is preparing for a big day. On 9 December she will receive a certificate at the “Maritim” hotel in Berlin. This will confirm that she has completed her apprenticeship to be an industrial ceramicist, specialising in decoration techniques, and that her results are the best in the country.

The award ceremony for the best in the country is being presented by Barbara Schöneberger. The top-performing trainees from throughout Germany will be welcomed by Dr. Eric Schweitzer, the President of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. EU Commissioner Günther H. Oettinger will be giving the official speech.

Now that her training is complete, she is starting a degree programme. Melanie Wenninger grew up in Lauterbach and is now studying Communication Design at the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences. She completed her apprenticeship at Gutbrod Keramik GmbH Gundelfingen. In her final examination, conducted by the IHK Schwaben (Swabian Chamber of Commerce and Industry) in accordance with the German Vocational Training Act, she received a top result. Gutbrod’s Managing Director Norbert Müller, the IHK (Chamber of Commerce) Regional Managing Director Oliver Stipar and IHK Regional Chairman Peter Lachenmeir congratulated Melanie Wenninger on her success at the Gutbrod company premises.

Oliver Stipar handed the national winner a voucher for her and a companion to travel to Berlin, and for an overnight stay. Melanie Wenninger left no doubt that she regards her focus on handmade tile design at Gutbrod as having been the key factor in her success in the final examination in Selb/Upper Franconia.

At the company in Gundelfingen, she explained, she got to know a wide variety of design options such as working with one’s own motifs or ones provided, the use of gold and platinum, the application of glazes, and the creative design of clay models. Managing Director Müller emphasised the willingness of the former trainee to show outstanding commitment to her work. She had been the architect of her own success thanks to her hard work and natural talent, he said. During her apprenticeship, Melanie Wenninger was mentored by ceramics engineer Siegfried Köhler and by glass and ceramics specialist Marta Johan.

Her studies at the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences are giving the national winner the opportunity to further her talent for developing designs. But over and above this, Melanie Wenninger has a quite different hobby: she is a seasoned defender in the ladies’ team of the FC Donauwörth.
